VivaKi Appoints Yifei Li as Greater-China Chairwoman

SHANGHAI-VivaKi, the media and digital division of Publicis Groupe, one of world's largest advertising and media companies, today announced that Yifei Li(李亦非) has been named Chair for VivaKi Greater China. In her new role, Yifei Li will work with the regional and local leadership of Digitas, Starcom MediaVest Group and ZenithOptimedia to build stronger businesses in Greater China region. Yifei Li will report to David Kenny, Managing Partner of VivaKi. According to Kenny, the joining of Yifei Li signals an amplified commitment of VivaKi to China, which is projected to be the world's 4th largest advertising market in 2009. China's GDP growth outlook is also expected to grow to 10% in 2010, signifying a rebound and significant opportunity for marketers. As China continues to expand and the world become increasingly more digital, VivaKi and Publicis Groupe have identified China as an important growth market. "Yifei is uniquely qualified to lead our organization in Greater China," said Mr. Kenny. "She will help our clients and media owners expand and grow businesses in this digital era. She combines powerful business acumen and marketplace knowledge." VivaKi is the strategic entity created by Publicis Groupe in 2008 to leverage the combined scale of its media and digital operations, which represent US $50 billion in global ad-spend and influence. In China, VivaKi is represented by three agency networks and employs over 1,200 people. Through its China Media Exchange, it is one of the largest media buyers in China. "I believe in the vision of VivaKi, which is to connect brands to people in meaningful ways, especially in this rapidly digitizing market of China." said Yifei Li. Yifei Li was most recently Managing Director for GLG Partners China, a leading global asset management company listed on New York Stock exchange. Before that, Yifei Li was Executive Vice President of MTV Networks Asia and Chief Representative of Viacom China. In her tenure at MTV and Viacom, Yifei Li was instrumental to the success of building MTV and Nickelodeon brands and businesses in China market. Once a Chinese martial arts champion, Yifei Li was selected in 2001 as one of 25 Rising Stars-Global Leaders For The Next Generation by Fortune and was on the cover of Fortune Magazine. She was subsequently named one of the 50 Most Powerful Women by Fortune, and was among the "Ten Women to Watch in Asia" by Asian Wall Street Journal in 2005 and 2006.
