MBEXCLUSIVE: Various sources from Shanghai tell MadisonBoom that, Michael Simons, who has held the ECD role at W+K Shanghai from late 2011, will leave the agency, and "retire from ad industry" accordingly. The agency has officially noticed the departure to its clients. We still can’t figure out who will replace him till now. W+K Shanghai installs two ECDs-Micheal Simons and Achilles Li -for the last two years. As one source told, W+K arranges dual ECDs structure for each local office globally, so the agency shall find another ECD soon. Prior to W+K, Simons was Chief Creative Officer at DraftFCB New York and ECD for DraftFCB Sydney. He had also worked at W+K Portland as CD during 1995 and 1998. There's also speculation that, Jason White, current MD for W+K Shanghai may leave, too.
